Nokia X-6 with music

Nokia's new X-6, touch-screen smartphone really is built for music.

The new Nokia x-6 has 32gig of storage and 35 hours of music-playing battery life. The best thing about this phone is it will come with access to UNLIMITED music downloads.

Let's hope that unlimited actually means unlimited.

Why An Apple Has To Build a Netbook

There are a lot of rumours floating around about an Apple tablet or Netbook device. It would make sense for Apple to get into this market as all the other PC manufacturers are cashing in on the Netbook craze, the success of which is partially attributed to the recession.

In the past Apple have gone for the high-end market and worked their way down to a low cost product. The iPod shuffle was a perfect example of this. Following this logic Apple will at some point create a device to compete in this market. Granted, it will probably still be more expensive than its rivals, but I think an Apple portable computing device which will be some where between the Macbook Air and and iPhone is on the way.

This is of course just speculation and most of the other reports I've heard event the ones from really credible sources are unconfirmed and little more than rumours.

White Pearl Tom-Tom - Skin deep beauty

Designed for the fashion and style conscious: The new "White Pearl" edition sat nav unit is really just a re-styled exterior of an existing Tom-Tom model. Looks fabulous but aside from a new start up screen tere are no new or features or capabilities to the software that runs in this device either.

A perfect set of balls

Yes here are a perfect set of balls... well almost. They are smooth to the nearest 0.0000000003 meter (1.18110236 × 10-8 inches), and round to within 0.00000005 meters (1.96850394 × 10-6 inches).

The silicon sphere's are made by meteorologists from Australia's Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, I have no idea what they do. All I know is they're just a nice pair of balls...

London Calling Mobile Phone

The iconic K6 red phone boxes which used to be such a common site in England can now be yours in the form of this cool looking mobile handset.

The London Calling handset comes with colour LCD screen, SMS and MMS capability and travel charger and includes pre stored ringtones such as "Rule Brittania" "God Save the Queen" just to complete the British theme.

This handset is available unlocked for use with any network and will cost around £85 which is a bit pricey considering what other phones with the same features can do but then again it looks like a red phone box so prehaps its worht it?

Kindle Rip-Off

It maybe hard to believe, but the image below is not of an Amazon Kindle!

Spotted in Digital Publishing Fair 2009, in Japan this E-Book reader from Founder International bears a striking resemblance to the Amazon Kindle. It has E-Ink's Epaper screen, just like the Kindle.

Founder International claim that they haven't ripped off the Amazon Kindle but developed their product independantly. It will be interesting to hear what Amazon have to say about that.

The E-Book will retail at $209 in China but no reports on when or if it will retail out side of Asia

iPhone 3G S (what else?)

The gadget most on my mind today is the iPhone 3G S... I know everyone's talking about it and I like to generally blog about the more unusually gadgets, gizmos and inventions but this latest iteration of the iPhone does have some useful improvements.

Most noticeably the built in compass which helps you to orientate your position and the direction your facing when looking at maps, I know I'm going to find that feature extremely useful.

The video recording and editing has been a long time coming and should have been a feature from the very first version. Voice control and MMS are also more basic features which so many other smart phones already do but have been strangely absent from the iPhone.

With tweaks to the processor Apple now say that the iPhone 3G S is overall 2x faster than the previous version. I like the tethering feature too, although I can't see any service cellphone companies being thrilled about this. In fact most companies like T-mobile are very specific about not allowing this.

I think that Apple have answered many of the issued raised by critics of the iPhone with this new iPhone and the iPhone 3.0 Operating System, and if you (like me) were just waiting to see more of these basic features installed before you jumped on the band wagon and became and iPhone owner then now is the time to buy.

Apple have posted a vide guided tour on their side with one of those creepy-generic looking people with no surname that they claim work in "one of their stores" you can watch the vide here.

The Bus Stop That Displays Your Weight

Take a seat at this bus stop in Rotterdam and an ad by Fitness First, a local fitness club, displays your weight for all to see. A great way to shame people in to going to the gym. it would be interesting to see how we would take to this in the UK where obesity is becoming a real issue.

Apple have released a new set of Mac v's PC ads. They are as funny and entertaining as ever and are more than likely as a counter to the recent Microsoft Ads which focused on the high price tags associated with Apple computers.
